A Sacramento-based personal injury law firm is seeking a Temp-To-Hire Legal Support Staff / Legal Assistant to support attorneys and case managers in a high-volume personal injury practice. This full-time, onsite position plays a critical role in keeping cases moving efficiently by providing hands-on administrative and legal support. The role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with prior personal injury exposure who enjoys client interaction, organization, and working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Responsibilities:
Attorney and Case Management Support
Provide day-to-day administrative and legal support to attorneys and case managers handling personal injury matters
Assist with pre-litigation case handling and support the overall progression of PI cases
Client Intake and Communication
Assist with client intake by gathering initial information and maintaining ongoing client contact
Communicate professionally with clients, medical providers, and insurance companies
Document Preparation and Records Management
Draft, format, and proofread correspondence, basic pleadings, and personal injury-related documents
Request, organize, and track medical records, medical bills, and police reports
Maintain accurate and well-organized electronic and physical case files
Settlement and Case Support
Assist with settlement packages and demand preparation under supervision
Track deadlines and update internal case management systems
Administrative and Office Support
Handle incoming and outgoing mail, scanning, filing, and document management
Support general office operations in a fast-paced personal injury environment
Qualifications:
Must be available for TEMP-TO-HIRE job positions
1+ year of experience in a personal injury law firm or legal support role preferred
Familiarity with personal injury case flow, medical records, and insurance claims strongly preferred
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks in a high-volume environment
Professional demeanor and strong client service skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with legal case management software
Exposure to pre-litigation personal injury matters
Bilingual skills a plus
Work Environment:
Onsite role in Sacramento
